Lead Sheet for Radiation Shielding

Thai-made lead sheet from 0.6 to 10 mm, cut and fitted into the walls of X-ray rooms in clinics and hospitals across Thailand.

What is lead sheet used for?

Lead sheet is soft metal fitted inside walls to stop X-rays. Purer lead folds neatly into corners and around frames. Hospital Renovation's lead sheet is made in Thailand, and our team fits it.

At the joints

Why lead sheets overlap at the joints

A gap between two sheets is a gap in the shielding, so sheets overlap behind the frame. Thailand's design manual asks that the joints around doors and windows shield as tightly as the wall.

  1. OverlapOne sheet runs behind the next, so no straight path gets through.
  2. Soft enough to foldHigh-purity lead folds into corners without cracking.
  3. Cut on siteOur team cuts each sheet to fit around doors and windows.

Questions

Lead sheet questions

Last updated 2 November 2026

What thickness of lead sheet do I need?

It depends on the machine and the direction of the beam, so it is worked out for each room. We supply lead sheet from 0.6 to 10 mm, and thicker sheet to order. Tell us the machine and we will advise you.

How much does lead sheet weigh?

About 11.34 kg per square metre for each millimetre of thickness. A 1 × 2 m sheet at 2 mm weighs about 45 kg.

What sizes does lead sheet come in?

Standard sheets run from 36 × 500 cm at 0.6 mm to 120 × 240 cm at 1.5 mm, and other thicknesses and sizes are made to order.

Is your lead sheet made in Thailand?

Yes. Our lead sheet is made in Thailand from high-purity lead and tested to standard.

Do you install lead sheet as well as supply it?

Yes. Our own team cuts the sheet and fits it into the walls, around doors and windows, before the finish goes on.

Which rooms use lead sheet?

Hospital X-ray rooms, cath labs, interventional radiology, nuclear medicine and radiotherapy, as well as dental, veterinary, orthopaedic and urology clinics and industrial X-ray.

How much does lead sheet cost?

Ask us for a price. It depends on thickness, sheet size and whether we install it. Send us the thickness and area and we will quote it.
